$46,000 In Scholarships Awarded

The Rising Sun Regional Foundation announced that it has awarded a total of $46,000 in scholarship grants to 46 graduating seniors who reside in Ohio and Ripley counties and the City of Aurora, the foundation’s southeastern Indiana grantmaking region. Each student has received a $1,000 scholarship award.

Recipients of these RSRF scholarships are:

Batesville Community School Corporation
Lauren Eckstein, Jordan Ertel, Samantha Heidlage, Elizabeth Weiler, Emily Williamson, and Karsen Worthington.

East Central Community School Corporation
Tabytha Bechtel, Alex Doll, Kendall Gindling, Hannah Hutson, Joshua Kolton, and Madison Wiedeman.

Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corporation
Kaylynn Baluyot, Kara McDaniel, Julia Mullins, Matthew Seals, Benjamin Smith, Autumn Wilkening, and Adriana Youngman.

Milan Community School Corporation
Nathan Austing, Courtney Cann, Payton Healy, Jackson Lohrum, Kyle Meyer, Rebecca Moore, and Morgan Russell.

Oldenburg Academy
Mikaela Fangman and Ashley Sedler.

Rising Sun-Ohio County School Corporation
Carson Blackwell, Abigail Fletcher, Mitchell Morris, Kelsey Romans, Mackinzie Scott, and Anna Slack.

South Dearborn Community School Corporation
Kaylei Eldridge, George Hatfield, Andrew Hilton, Kyle McGaha, Kelsie Roth, and Amber Secrest.

South Ripley School Corporation
Kayla Adkinson, Mercedes Bowling, Sarah Bush, Wyatt Elston, Kayla King, and Brian McCombs.

All graduating seniors who reside in Ohio and Ripley counties and the City of Aurora, who have maintained a six-semester grade point average of 2.75 or higher, and who plan to attend a post-secondary educational institution, were eligible to apply for these scholarship awards. Winners of these scholarships were drawn at random from the pool of applications which were submitted to the Rising Sun Regional Foundation with official transcripts.

The Rising Sun Regional Foundation is funded by the Rising Star Casino Resort, owned by Full House Resorts, Inc., which makes monthly contributions to the foundation based on a percentage of its Adjusted Gross Revenue.
